How It Got Started

My name is Remi, as you know. But, I’m from a small town in Florida. It’s called, Lake City. I was raised there all my life. After HS, I joined the Army and moved to Fort Hood, Texas. I’m also a war Veteran. I served two tours in Balad Iraq. After my Army career, I moved to Orlando Florida. I attended Valencia Community College, and UCF, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Social Work with a minor in children and family services. One year later, I attended USC in Los Angeles and received my Masters in Social Work. I’m currently a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern. I am currently working as a Therapist and Case Manager for a Juvenile residential facility. I previously worked at the Florida Department of Corrections as a Mental Health Professional in their In-patient mental health dorm, providing counseling.
I guess it’s safe to say, I love to help! I believe there is no greater job than being of service to someone else. It’s the purest form of joy. I have two daughters, 9 and 5 years old. They are my reason for making it this far in life. I am inspired to be an inspiration to others. We all have something we have dealt with and overcome and something we are dealing with and trying to overcome. I believe our life trials and tribulations are truly for someone else. We live our lives to bless someone else with our story later in life! Now it’s my time, I will do just that! I hope that my blog can be a blessing to you or someone you know. Let’s tackle these obstacles one at a time!
